PWC visitorsThe peers and staff of Perry Wellness Center were recently pleased to host a visit by a couple interested in starting a north Georgia recovery center. Rhonda and Charles Bruce arrived at our center on April 15, where they were greeted by Stuart Perry. Stuart shared his thoughts with the visitors, who hope to start a peer program in Clayton, Georgia and the Rabun County area.

“When we began researching active and notable sites in Georgia, Perry Wellness Center seemed to always appear,” explained Rhonda Bruce. “We reviewed the website for the Georgia Department of Mental Health and noted the visit and pleasure found by Commissioner Frank Berry. We knew this was the best place for our visit.”

During the visit, peers shared information about the program and the life improvement skills they had learned. Staff member Jackie Teasley, who had first spoken to the couple during their inquiries, was pleased they had come to learn about Perry Wellness Center.

“It was great to know that we are so popular in Georgia,” Jackie enthused. “I was happy to share our campus with the Bruce couple.”

When we stop to consider the beauty of Rabun County in the fall or spring, we can’t help think that our own site visit may be in order soon! Thanks to Charles and Rhonda Bruce for your interest, and good luck with your new program!
